Thereas by an Ordinance (No.29 of 1889) dated the 27th day of November 1889, enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Comail thereof to amand the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Ordinance it is provided that, with the comment of the Commissioners for the time being for executing the Office of Lord High Treasurer (such consent being signi- fied in writing under the hands of the said Commissioners or any two of Them) the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corpora- tion may establish Branch Banks or Agencies for Exchange, Deposit and Remittance at any place out of the Colony in conformity with the law of such place; and Thereas by Proclamation issued in the Hong Kong Government Gazette of the 25th January, 1890, the said Ordinance was brought into operation; and Thereas the said Corporation has applied for the consent of the said Commissioners to the establish- ment of certain Branches and Agencies of the Corporation at the places hereinafter specified;

Now therefore, He, being two of the Commissioners for the time being for executing the Office of Lord High Treasurer, do hereby signify the assent of the said Commissioners to the establishment by the said Corporation

of Branches or Agencies at the several places hereunder

mentioned in conformity with the law of such places
